There are new owners for the Trump International Hotel & Tower in downtown Toronto, and JCF Capital says it has reached an agreement to buy out the management contract. That means that the Trump name will be dropped from the hotel and condo building that it has had since 2012.
The building was long delayed by legal battles and many units remained unsold. Not to mention many recent protests have taken place by Torontonians who don’t want to see the Trump name in Canada.
Does this mean there is a chance it could happen in Vancouver? Mayor Gregor Robertson said, “”It is my hope that you and your company will work quickly to remove his brand and all it represents from your building” in a letter addressed to the management of the building.
