The sun is out! Quick, find a patio with plenty of space and lots of cold beverages. No lines, daily specials and the best view in the City. Not much to ask for right?!
Here’s our list of the ‘top patios’ in Vancouver. Feel free to add your suggestions below, because we’ve all god our favourite spot in the sun!
10. Pier 7 Restaurant & Bar, North Vancouver
Arguably THE BEST view of downtown Vancouver when the sun is shining or the skyline is lit up. Easy to get to if you’re not from North Van – take the SeaBus to Lonsdale Quay and you’re there!
9. Mahony & Sons, Stamps Landing
False Creek never looked so good! Perfect view of BC Place and Yaletown from one of the largest patios on this side of the water. The Aquabus stops right out front as well. Perfect for a scenic drink pre- Whitecaps or Lions.
8. The Local (formally The Chill Winston) , Gastown
Perfect for people watching in the heart of Gastown’s main square. Foodies love this place for it’s organic veggies and proteins – free run and antibiotic free.
Oh, and it’s closing after this summer – so enjoy while it lasts!
7. The Roof At Black + Blue, Downtown
Billed as ‘rooftop dining at its best’, this squanky resturant lives up to the slogan with one of the best views downtown. Sure, it’s not a place to head for a quick cold beverage but it will impress whoever you take here for lunch or dinner.
6. Cactus Club, English Bay
Location.. Location.. Location.. This is the closest you’ll get to the beach without being ON the beach. So close you can almost put your feet on the sand. Beware of the weekend lineups and try to get here for the happy hour.
5. St. Augustine’s, Commercial Drive
This is what Commercial Drive is all about – giant patio, lots of craft beer on tap and casual dining. Who cares that you can’t see the water!
4. The Galley, Jericho Beach
Bike along the beach to the view that locals proudly declare ‘the best in Vancouver’. It’s hard to argue because it ticks all the boxes – accessible but hidden away, great sun coverage, amazing view and relaxed vibe.
3. Tap & Barrel, Coal Harbour
One of the newest patios at Coal Harbour and possibly the best view at Canada Place. Unobstructed views of the harbour and the mountains – it’s the kind of place you take visiting friends to show off the city.
2. The Boathouse, Kits Beach
The restaurant chain that has all the great locations , however this spot on Kits Beach takes the cake. Overlooking the bay you feel like you’re on the deck of a cruise ship.
1. The Keg, Yaletown
There aren’t that many rooftop bars in Yaletown and this is by far the best, it’s also ‘winter proofed’ – meaning when it’s cold you can still be cosy and warm enjoying a view of Vancouver. Go for the view, stay for the steaks.
