Amazon GO launched their first grocery store in Seattle on Jan. 22. The basic premise is that you can walk in and walk out without having to deal with lines. So if you wish to buy something, just pick it up, throw it in your bag, and walk out.
If you’re thinking it’s free, sorry, its not!
Amazon charges you when you leave with a camera system that watches you and tags every item you pick up and charges a pre-registered credit card.
Day one went well, except the premise of no lines, didn’t quite go so well. It was lined up around the block just to get in!
And somehow, someone was able to steal something!!!
I’m sure once they iron all the glitches out, this will be awesome! Total Big Brother vibes but I’m into it!
