Scooter’s Top 5 Playland Rides + Your Chance to Win a 4-pack of Tickets!

Okay, so, you’re a new parent, and your life is over right? Wrong! One of my favourite ways to spend a sunny summer day back when I was a free-wheeling childless party animal was at Playland. Always a big fan of all the rides, I was up for any of the big time adrenaline inducers. Seriously, before becoming a Dad, I was up for ANYTHING. All the rides. No fear, whatsoever. Definitely NOT the type of guy to chicken out on a scary ride. Hellevator? No problem. Revelation? Bring it on. Atmosfear? Please, piece of cake. But, since I AM a new Dad, my choice in rides has become a bit more limited (and believe me when I say that this the ONLY reason I’m not going on the big rides… It’s definitely not because I’m scared. Don’t be ridiculous) and I’ve found myself gravitating to some more family friendly rides, and it turns out they are actually really, really fun!

So, without further ado, here are my top 5 Daddy-daughter appropriate rides!

5. Teacups

Perhaps a bit extreme for little ones (Personally I’m fine though. No problem with teacups. None at all. I definitely DON’T get motion sickness) but super fun for more adventurous kids! Spin around a get dizzy with your family and friends! A Classic!

4. The Flutterbye

It’s a like a bicycle powered butterfly! My Daughter Sloan loves to help pedal up to the clouds and then down to the ground all while flapping her wings!

3. Balloon Explorers

So fun. You get to go up and down and enjoy the view of the whole park from the safety of your own personal hot air balloon!

2. Cap’n KC

What West Coast Kid doesn’t love being on the water? A nice leisurely cruise with some great scenery, and the chance to search for buried treasure! The kids ride solo on this one (no parents allowed).

1. The Honeybee Express

My daughter Sloan loves this one. It’s a train ride through an enchanted forest and the wonders of the West coast! Lots to look at, and stays nice and close to the ground. Perfect for kids and adults who are afraid of heights (Not me though… Just saying.)

So there you go! Five rides that are sure to keep the kids happy. Like I said – personally, you’d find me on the more daring rides, but because I’m a Dad now, I keep things a bit more low key. I swear, If you’d only seen me at Playland a few years ago – man oh man – was I a wild one! Trust me. I’ve been on all of them. I swear. They were GREAT. (Please don’t make me go on any more scary rides…)
